The routes by bike through the Euganean Hills Natural Park, from the easiest to the most challenging, allow you to discover the impressive nature, ancient villages and splendid abbeys, in the captivating scenery of the Hills, an area renowned for tastings of DOC wines and for its ancient food and wine tradition.
In addition to a relaxing spa holiday at the Hotel Eliseo, you can also enjoy a cycling holiday: ours was one of the first Hotels at the Thermae of Abano and Montegrotto to welcome cyclists and bikers, dedicating particular attention to cycling enthusiasts such as the bike house.
We offer you four bicycle routes, allowing you to admire the beauty of the area on two wheels:
1) Bicycle routes: The Hills of Battaglia and Galzignano
- Travel time: 1 hr 45 mins + 2 hrs
- Length: 31.7 km
- Max altitude: 78 m
- Total difference in altitude: 285 m
Departing directly from the hotel, this route will allow you to discover historical and artistic points of interest such as Villa Draghi, Castle of Catalo, Castle of Sgaravatti, Villa Ranier and Villa Barbarigo. Leaving the Eliseo, turn right and ride along Via della Stazione until you reach the small square with the war memorial monument. Turn left before the square and then immediately right, turning into Via Castello, in the direction of Villa Draghi.
4) Mountain bike route: In the heart of the Hills
- Travel time: 1 hr 30 mins + 1 hr 45 mins
- Length: 11.3 km
- Max altitude: 436 m
- Total difference in altitude: 450 m
This itinerary offers a short but challenging route, winding between Mount Venda and Mount Rua, in the very heart of the Euganean Hills. It is mainly on dirt road (a total of 9.3 km) and is dedicated to mountain bike enthusiasts. The starting point of the itinerary is the little church, Chiesetta degli Alpini, in Galzignano. After a few metres downhill, towards the Roverello Pass, turn right immediately into via Sottovenda on a dirt road, following the signs for the Rifugio Re del Venda lodge. Along the path, there is a beautiful view of the Galzignano valley on the left and as you carry on, also on the left, you can admire the valley of Lozzo Atestino and Cinto Euganeo with Monte Rusta. High up, on the right, you can see the top of Monte Venda with the ruins of the Olivetan Monastery.
